Simone Weil born in Paris.

1925

Enters Lycée Henri IV.

1928

Enters École Normale Supérieure.

1930

Weil's headaches begin.

1931

Starts teaching.

1932

Makes six week visit to Berlin.

1934

Writes Oppression and Liberty. Begins working in as factory.

1935

Holiday in Spain and Potugal.

1936

Weil enroles in the Anarchist Militia on the Republican side during the Spanish Civil War.

1938

Visit to Solesmes - first mystical experiences.

1940

Weil Family move to Marseilles.

1941

Begins notes books from which Gravity and Grace are taken. June - meets Fr Perrin. Works for Thibon. Writes most of Intimations of Christianity among the Ancient Greeks.

1942

Leaves France. Travels to America via Casablanca. Arrives in London in December.

1943

Writes The Need for Roots.

15th April 1943

Enters Middlesex Hospital.

24th August 1943

Dies in Ashford, Kent.
